On 8 April, it was once again time for the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery to open its doors for a whole week and to welcome a wide audience of international (trade) visitors. At this year’s bauma in Munich, around 3,700 exhibitors from 63 countries presented their products to over 620,000 visitors - a new record in the event’s 65-year history. So it comes as little surprise that many of the exhibitors enjoyed bumper trading and full order books. This also includes alkus AG, which was represented at the trade fair by its international sales team.
Live demonstration of the alkus® formwork panel at the stand
This year, the Liechtenstein-based company’s trade fair focus is on live demonstrations of its alkus® solid plastic panel. And they are doing it successfully: Whenever alkus technician Neno Mahmutovic began a product demonstration, showing just how easily the alkus® panel can be processed and repaired, a crowd of people quickly gathered around him. “For many potential customers, it’s important to get an idea of what the alkus® panel is all about and perhaps even to drive a nail into it,” explains Mahmutovic. “Luckily, we were able to directly explore the key arguments for our product live.”
Formwork for every system
Another key focus of the stand was on the alkus® panel being the ideal solution for all formwork systems. Be it Doka, PERI or Hünnebeck – die alkus® panel can be used irrespective of the formwork system manufacturer. At bauma, the panel could also be found in various systems and not just at the alkus stand: Numerous formwork manufacturers also presented their systems equipped with the solid plastic formwork alternative, e. g. PERI, meva, EUROBRESS, RINGER, INTERFAMA, NOE and Tobler. A film shown at the alkus stand underlined the fact that the alkus® panel has already been used successfully in many projects worldwide.
Latest development: alkus® AL 10
Trade visitors to the stand also showed great interest in alkus® AL 10, a particularly lightweight version of the alkus® solid plastic panel. The aluminium-reinforced formwork panel is the latest development of the alkus® panel and is one kilo lighter per square metre than the glass-fibre-reinforced alkus® GM 10. It is, therefore, particularly suitable for slab formwork. Furthermore, it is easier to weld and repair.
Roland Urach, Key Account Manager at alkus AG, is delighted with how the event went: “Our participation in bauma 2019 was once again a complete success. Interest in the alkus® panel continues to grow. We had many interesting conversations with visitors from around the world and were able to win some new customers.”
