Great interest in recycling concepts, product demonstrations and new scaffolding panel
alkus AG looks back on a successful bauma 2025
bauma, the world's leading trade fair for the construction industry, received at the exhibition center in Munich from April 7 to 13, 2025. Around 600,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and regions took the opportunity to gather information and exchange ideas with the 3,601 exhibitors. alkus AG was once again participated in the exhibition at stand (Hall B3, Stand 412). At bauma 2025, the Liechtenstein pioneer for plastic formwork panels impressed visitors with its new recycling concept for the alkus® solid plastic panel and product demonstrations, among other things. The alkus Comfodeck panel, a particularly lightweight scaffolding panel, also aroused great interest.
In the beginning there was the aquarium: Anyone passing by the alkus AG stand at bauma 2025 usually first noticed the rotating, well-filled aquarium from which an alkus® solid plastic formwork panel protruded - or the live repair of the panel by a technician at the centrally positioned repair table. The two highlights at the alkus AG stand highlighted two important advantages of the alkus® formwork panel: it is waterproof and therefore does not decompose. And it can be repaired in the same material without any loss of quality. Both have a decisive effect on its service life: One panel can be used more than 1,500 times. The alkus® solid plastic panel is therefore an economical and sustainable alternative to wooden formwork panels.
Focus topic sustainability: introduction of recycling concept and panel take-back guarantee
The topic of sustainability played an important role for many companies at bauma 2025, including alkus AG: "With the alkus® formwork panel, we offer a solution that has been tried and tested for 25 years and whose use is sustainable in itself due to its long service life. As the best-known brand and market leader in plastic formwork panels, we were automatically sure to attract the attention of many visitors," says Julian Dingler, owner of the alkus Group. "But we didn't want to rest on our laurels: At bauma 2025, we took the opportunity to present our recycling concept for the first time, which includes the internal recycling of PP waste directly in production, the separation and return of aluminum to aluminum production and, in the future, the return of old alkus® panels that will be sold from bauma 2025 onwards. We have also received very good feedback on this."
New alkus Comfodeck board arouses great interest
A new addition to the alkus AG portfolio also attracted a lot of attention at the trade fair stand, especially internationally: The alkus Comfodeck panel is a scaffolding panel made of glass fiber-reinforced polypropylene that can be used across all systems and scores points with its lightweight construction. Compared to conventional wooden decking, it saves around 50 percent in weight and has a UV resistance of over 10 years. When presenting the new board at bauma, alkus AG received support from its partner Compoform B.V. from the Netherlands.
Complete success: stand party for the 25th anniversary
A special highlight of the trade fair week for alkus AG was the stand party to celebrate the company's 25th anniversary. The company was founded in Vaduz/Liechtenstein in 2000. In the same year, the alkus® solid plastic panel went into series production. On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, customers, partners and other guests were invited to spend a relaxed evening with snacks, drinks, music and exciting conversations at the alkus AG stand to celebrate this anniversary in style. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Motzko, former Managing Director of the Institute for Construction Management at TU Darmstadt and outgoing Chairman of the Quality Protection Association for Concrete Formwork Europe e.V., gave a welcoming speech in which he emphasized that alkus was a pioneer in the industry from the very beginning and has remained so to this day.
Environmental Product Declaration presented for the alkus® solid plastic panel
Another welcome address came from Florian Pronold, Managing Director of the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. in Berlin. During the ceremony, he also officially presented alkus with the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for the alkus® solid plastic panel. This multi-page document describes the environmental impact of the respective building products on the basis of a life cycle assessment with quantitative data, thus making it transparent to the public. EPDs serve as the basis for the ecological assessment in building certification systems and show manufacturers the potential for optimizing their products.
"No business is like (bauma) show business!"
"Despite the current difficult economic situation, the general mood this year was consistently positive," says the new Managing Director of alkus AG, Daniel Keller. "For us, bauma 2025 is already a complete success: compared to 2022, we were able to almost double the number of qualified leads achieved. In addition, we have signed a cooperation agreement with a leading formwork supplier, which we will publish shortly." Owner Julian Dingler adds: "We were also pleased that we were able to welcome more international visitors our stand again after the end of the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, especially from Asia. Our team had many interesting conversations with interested parties and existing customers. 'No business is like (bauma) show business' - and it was a great show. Unfortunately, it is only every three years!"
