bauma, the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, once again takes place in Munich from 8 to 14 April 2019. alkus AG will also be there, showcasing the new alkus^® AL 10, a particularly lightweight version of the alkus^® solid plastic panel, and its new panel replacing service. The team at the stand will focus on live demonstrations and on showcasing alkus^® as the ideal formwork for all systems.

In the Formwork and Scaffolding Hall B3, the Liechtenstein-based company will present the latest development stage of its product: the extremely lightweight alkus^® AL 10. The aluminium-reinforced solid plastic formwork panel is a whole kilogramme lighter per square metre than the fibre-reinforced alkus^® GM 10 and thus ideally suited for slab formwork. Moreover, it is easier to weld and repair.

At the two-storey stand, visitors to bauma will be able to see for themselves that the alkus^® solid plastic formwork fits into any formwork system and can be used for a vast range of projects worldwide – from bridge and tunnel construction to elaborate prefabricated facades and plain residential units.

This year, there will once again be product demonstrations directly at the exhibition stand. How a panel can be processed and repaired will be displayed live by an alkus engineer. “We’ll also give anyone interested the chance to try it out for themselves, for example by hammering a nail into the alkus^® panel or repairing a scratch,” explains Elvis Kaljic, Managing Director of alkus AG since September 2018. “It gives them an opportunity to make up their own minds. Before using our cost-effectiveness calculator to work out how much switching to alkus^® will save them over the panel’s entire service life – since no longer having to replace panels also means less downtime and savings in terms of materials and manpower.”

In addition, visitors to the exhibition in Munich can find out about the new panel replacing service for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In cooperation with local partners, alkus has been offering its (new) customers an all-round carefree package since last year: the formwork system elements are collected from the construction site, the old formwork is flattened and disposed of, everything is cleaned, the alkus^® panel is installed professionally and the formwork returned on time and by the date arranged. “In the future, we will place even more emphasis on our service provisions,” claims Managing Director Kaljic.

Yet another future topic is the expansion of business in the USA. bauma offers the ideal opportunity for this. “At bauma, we can project ourselves on the international stage and in front of every key industry multiplier. We’re going to take this opportunity with both hands,” Kaljic explains. The 40-year-old expects many interesting encounters and discussions at his first bauma as Managing Director of alkus AG.
